Its a strawberry treasure hunt with the ripe, red jewels hiding under dark green leaves and even beneath the overhanging branches of ripening black currants. I don’t know what to do first. Tonight it will be strawberry jam but then should I bottle gooseberries or make pickled beetroot slices? I am running out of jars and lids so have just ordered a bumper pack of glass ware which should be delivered before the weekend. It’s a wonderful, crazy, busy time of year and we have to try and keep ahead of the weeds and the ripening fruits so that we don’t lose any of the bounty.
