Calves don’t seem to be bothered by electric fences and last week Little Barney was pushing through the fence whilst his mother bellowed for him to return to her side. Today Little Larry (as I think we will call him) was halfway down the other field having a snooze when I went to check on him. Mother Lucy was calling him but he slept on and refused to move. So I almost picked him up ( calves are heavier than one might imagine) and prodded him until he made it through the fence to the waiting Lucy and aunt Beattie who promptly licked him all over.
