A new black baby calf has just been born to Lucy. Mother Lucy and aunt Beattie are licking the calf and cleaning it gently and it is trying, unsuccefully so far, to get onto its feet. Young Barney has taken a look but does not seem too troubled or interested. We will leave them for a while and go and check on their progress later. Let’s hope mother and baby will be well.
