Our amazing American friends packed this enormous painted dish in their luggage and brought it all the way to the Gables when they visited two weeks ago. It will be used all summer and filled with salads from the garden. I confess that the tomatoes are from a well known supermarket but the lettuces, lovage, spring onions, basil, parsley, cilantro and chives were all picked less than an hour ago.
