An early morning drive along Mill Road is filled with rabbit and hare sightings, the occasional buzzard and jay walking pheasants and also pretty partridges that seem blissfully unaware of the hazard that cars pose. Early morning driving in summer is in contrast to dark winter mornings when I am more likely to spot a badger, a deer or an owl.
