Preparing the playground for Friday visitors

It’s a race against time and the weather as we battle on with filling pots with manure and mole earth and compost so that we can plant out tomato and pepper seedlings. We also want to fill the patios and gardens with colour. There are sweet peas to place and dying daffodils to trim and as fast as I cut the grass it grows back filled with daisies, dandelions and buttercups. Jeremy has just driven the tractor across the back garden to cut the waist high cow parsley so that the children, who are due to arrive with their families on Friday, can make their way to the climbing frame without getting lost in the undergrowth!
