Basketball, babies and bricks

Whenever I leave The Gables on a “work day” I return to find great changes. I was only gone for a few hours to take care of baby granddaughter. We played and went to the library for Rhyme Time (which I used to run when I lived in London but which is brilliantly led now by the enthusiastic Ginny). We had lots of fun.

Back at The Gables Jeremy, Matt, Vic and Daz had started to dig out the base underneath the new basketball net (is it too high for shooting practice for the under 10’s and me?). We are recycling some old paving slabs in this area and Vic and Matt have also recycled some old timbers to make new window surrounds in the barn.

The sand blaster fella had been here whilst I was away and cleaned the paint off the bricks which are now looking suitably red and dusty and in need of a few minor repairs. The black ship lap has been affixed to the near gable end and the far gable will be done tomorrow. Great work everyone.
