Excited as I walk to the village hall to vote!

I am still excited by the opportunity to vote even though I have become disillusioned and disappointed with my representatives (and their expenses claims) over the years. So I strolled purposefully to the village hall where I was handed NOT one but FIVE papers. White for MP, Green for Borough Councillor, Pink for Mayor of Bedford, Purple for Parish Council and Yellow for a referendum on an increase in the Police’s share of Council Tax (what? I’ve never even heard of that one).
So I hope I have put my crosses in the correct boxes and into the correct ballot boxes and we expect the results for our Member of Parliament , according to the staff in the village hall, at around 4 am. Other votes will be counted later in the week. I am now back home having a reviving cup of coffee before I begin making cheese cake with a new recipe that I found on the good old Internet.

  1. I am off to the Village Hall in a while, just joining you with a cup of tea first, I was watching on the local news last night that a village in Northamptonshire uses one of the homes for the polling station, the owner sets everything up in her tiny hall, and another is in a micro brewery, handy for a post voting tipple or, maybe, two! Enjoy the cheesecake. Our grandchildren are having a sleep over this Friday.
