It has been a day of “ups and downs” with Mack the cat absent at breakfast time and missing all day. None of the builders have seen him and Mabel isn’t saying where he is! Jeremy has put in the runner beans and hopes they will survive rabbit attacks. The roofers have been putting the tiles on the roof and cutting in and fixing the Velux windows. At the end of the vegetable garden I have been spreading out cardboard on the grass to mulch out weeds. It works brilliantly. After a few months Jeremy will lift the paper and put the tiller over the soil ready for more planting.
