The warm weather, last week, lulled me into believing that cold nights and days were behind us but this morning I found ice in the water buckets and I had to wear gloves as I prepared the feed for the animals. Nevertheless the trees that we planted last year and the year before are blossoming and the established fruit trees are smothered in blooms. I decided to light the small woodburner this morning and I have kept it burning all day so that I had a warm place in which to sit when I came in from the field and garden. I’m going soft!
