As we made our evening inspection of the animals and the vegetables we noticed a creature running under the spreading leaves of the artichoke plants.  Quick as a flash Mabel was running, eyes glinting, flying through chicken fencing and in a trice she returned with a baby rabbit in her mouth, still moving but fatally injured.  She passed us by and went to show her prize to lazy Mack who was lying on the path enjoying the warm sundown hour.  One less rabbit to eat the lettuces but what a terrible solution.
