Jeremy was carrying out his weekly chores…….strawing the poultry run and the cow shed, changing the water in the duck and goose bath and adding fresh daily hay to the circular cow feeder. He called me to come into the cow barn to see something ……….and there at the bottom of the feeder was a wriggling group of baby rabbits snuggled under the protective cover of the warm hay.  The mother wasn’t with them and had probably run off at the sound of Jeremy’s approach.  We admired them, videoed them, decided that we couldn’t possibly kill them and put the hay back over them in the full knowledge that when they are big enough we will be fighting to keep them from eating our vegetables!
