Fresh from a gig at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge, listening to ( not playing with ) Dr John, The Fabulous Micky C – aka my brother Michael – visited The Gables with my sister in law Alison.  We looked at The Barn and wondered about its potential as a music venue.  We also looked at the ducklings and I have to impart sad news.  One of the ducklings managed to get out of the duck house early this morning through a small opening in the door. The mother duck could not get to her duckling to protect it from the heavy frost and the duckling froze before it managed to get back to the house.  We now have four precious little birds and we will try to ensure that they stay warm and enclosed until they are better able to withstand falling night temperatures.
