An early harvest and the final jars of jam have been labelled.

We stripped all the ripe Victoria plums  from the tree in the orchard this morning and turned them into 12 pots of jam, a container of stewed fruit for the freezer and a compote of apples and plums to feed the expected guests visiting this coming week.  There are four types of plum trees at The Gables.  Damsons at the entrance, cherry plums in the back garden, Victorias in the orchard and a wild plum near the garages.  All fruited early this year and made delicious jam.
