The winter “larder” is a bed of leeks outside of the polytunnel.  Jeremy sowed them as seeds in the polytunnel and then we planted them out when they were barely thicker than a blade of grass.  They are maturing into plump green leeks that will stay in the ground to be pulled up as and when we want fresh vegetables during the autumn and winter.
