On the old thistle ground, tilled by the tractor attachment and watered with light rain over the weekend, Jeremy marked shallow drills with the edge of the hoe.  He showed me how to mix the tiny carrot seeds with silver sand and to sprinkle this mixture evenly along the row.  He then covered the sand and seed mix with the earth and, if it works, we should have plenty of carrots in the autumn and winter.
