Weeds, wigwams and the wee ones

The cow parsley is so tall in the fields that I can barely see over the top.  So it’s time to get some cows who apparently like to munch these weeds. We are off to see a herd in Kimbolton tomorrow with a view to choosing two heifers.

In the vegetable patch the runner beans are running up the lattice work of bamboo poles and Jeremy has erected a small wigwam around which he has sown some other climbing legumes.Image

On my way from inspecting the garages (the conversion has to be finished by the end of May as we have a bunch of visitors arriving for a three day marathon shindig) I passed the Victorian letterbox where I heard an almighty twittering.  It was the baby tits calling for “more food, more food”.  They have insatiable appetites. Their parents fly back and forth all day with worms in their beaks to feed the wee ones.Image
