In glorious sunshine Jeremy planted out leeks that are thin as brush bristles but, we hope, will grow tall and thick in the far raised bed.
He prepared a cross hatch of bamboo sticks in readiness for the runner beans that are growing in the polytunnel. I ate home made runner bean chutney and cheese with my breakfast. The chutney was made last summer from a surplus of runners that we had in London If we had a surplus from a suburban back garden then I imagine we will have a super abundance here in Bedforshire. Start saving those jam jars!
