The goldfish have surfaced in the sunshine and come to eat the flakes that we threw into the water.
There are daffodil bulbs ready to burst and snowdrops at the base of the ash tree and hidden in small clumps amongst the tangle of rose of sharon plants by the gate
I sat outside the summer house basking in the warm sunshine but then a voice commanded ” that’s enough there’s work to do!” And of course there is endless work to do, but what a pleasure it is to be bathed in the glow of an unexpected February sun!

What a beautiful day! Having cleaned the house etc. I went off to see the snowdrops at Kingston Lacy – again! Several thousand others had the same idea but with sun and blue skies – who cares. They have engaged Tarte au Citron to serve coffee and cakes at the kitchen gardens. I sat there in the sun watching the Kune Kune piglets and drinking some of the best coffee on God’s earth. Life doesn’t get much better!
Who needs anything more?
