Inside our house two decorators are painting the walls and inside the 300 year old barn we are painting the new duck house roof and planning for chickens. The barn is a marvellous space in which to work. It has a high beamed ceiling,rudimentary electricity and a fairly weatherproof roof although it is not pretty …..some tiles covered with corrugated iron. When the wind blows it whips through the broken windows and shakes the building but, as our predecessors stated, it has stood for 300 years and should stand for a while yet. Let’s hope so as it is a great place to saw and paint and store pallets and wood whilst the weather does its worst outside.

I expect you are going to get a lot of requests now for Interior Decorating Furniture making (back to the Sklan roots) and I suppose that the sawing is in Jeremy’s genes (jeans?) inherited from his doctor father. As you are veggies presumably you won’t be needing a resident Shochet for the chickens and possibly other animals…..so it is going to be Egg with everything. Watch out for the Foxes there lots of them in Wembley but perhaps they don’t like Country life anymore. As the Metropolitan Line was nearby they did not have exhausting travel problems
